As of March 1, 2026, Slovakia will be required to allow customers to make cashless payments, either via a payment terminal or a QR code.
How to accept cashless payments with Storyous?
Integrated Teya terminal – either within the mobile waiter (All-in-One device), or on a terminal connected to a large tablet.
QR payments from the cash register – during January and February, we will be testing and launching the option to pay via QR code directly from the cash register system.
How does QR payment work?
When closing your account, you will select the QR code payment method.
The checkout will generate a unique QR code.
The customer scans it in the bank's mobile app and pays via instant payment.
The bank informs the Financial Administration, which then informs Storyous.
After confirming the payment, Storyous will close the account and print a fiscalized block.

We have fully embraced this change: We have been involved in a closed pilot phase since November 1, 2025, and have a prototype of the QR payment feature ready. We are improving it throughout the end of the year and plan to launch it for all our Slovak clients in January or February 2026.
QR payments bring flexibility and simplicity, but for maximum comfort, we still recommend contactless payments via a terminal, which remains the fastest and most convenient solution.
