Last year brought dozens of practical improvements to Storyous. They were created based on the real needs of hospitality businesses, focusing on faster daily operations, clearer data insights, and easier business management.

Faster service and smoother operations
We know that during busy hours, smart features make all the difference. That’s why in 2025 we focused on improvements that make everyday work easier for staff and help serve guests faster and with more confidence.
Discount per item:
You can adjust the price of a specific item directly in the order. It’s useful for loyalty rewards, handling complaints, or making a small gesture for a guest without discounting the entire bill.

Default table discount:
You can set an automatic discount for selected tables, which is applied automatically. A practical solution for business partners, staff meals, or regular guests.

Dark mode:
A new app interface that’s easier on the eyes during evening service. Especially appreciated in bars, clubs, and venues with low lighting.

Suggested tip on the receipt:
The receipt shows a recommended tip amount for the guest. A clear and transparent way to communicate how tipping works in your venue.
Clear insights into the numbers that drive your business
Running a business is driven by data. In 2025, we improved reports to make them easier to work with and to help you make faster, more confident decisions.
Data comparison in Reports:
You can compare results with another period, such as the previous month or the same period last year. This makes it easy to see what’s improving and where there’s room for growth.

Reports without VAT:
New columns allow you to view data without VAT. Each user can choose the view that best fits their needs and way of working.

Weekend highlighting in Reports:
Weekends are visually highlighted in reports, making charts and tables easier to read. You can quickly identify your busiest days at a glance.
Improved report export:
When exporting, you can select only the data you actually need. The output is cleaner and ready to share or process further, for example, with your accountant.
Improved report printing:
Reports are now optimised for A4 printing. Ideal for meetings, accounting purposes, and record keeping.
Better control over costs, margins, and inventory
Profitability often comes down to the details. That’s why we introduced tools that help you stay on top of costs, recipes, and stock levels before small issues turn into bigger problems.
Negative margin recipe alerts:
The system notifies you when an item would be sold at a loss. This makes it easy to spot pricing or recipe issues early and adjust them in time.

Recipes and semi-products for multiple portions:
Recipes are automatically recalculated based on the number of portions. This simplifies the preparation of larger batches or recipes that are harder to portion accurately, such as soups, and helps reduce weighing errors.

Automatic stock intake for new suppliers:
We expanded automatic stock intake to support 10 additional suppliers. Stock entries are created faster and with fewer manual steps, reducing the risk of human error.
Team management and day-to-day operations
A well-functioning team is the foundation of every hospitality business. In 2025, we introduced new features that make it easier to manage shifts, track working hours, and stay on top of individual responsibilities.
Employee attendance:
Working hours are recorded directly in Storyous. The data can be easily exported and used for payroll or further processing.

Shift status on the login screen:
Right after logging in, you can see which shifts are currently open and who is on duty. This helps keep daily operations organised and prevents confusion during staff handovers.

User filter in voids and discounts control:
Reports now allow you to filter by user to see who applied a specific void or discount. This gives you clearer oversight and greater control over daily operations and staff actions.
Smarter business management and room to grow

Improved table management in Administration:
Table management is now clearer and faster, including bulk table creation and easier reordering. You no longer need to set up tables one by one, which saves time when configuring or adjusting your floor plan.

Updated API documentation:
The updated documentation makes it easier to connect Storyous with other systems. It opens up more possibilities for integrations and custom solutions tailored to your business.
